Schulte grid: rules and how to read the score
Rules: tap every number in the scrambled grid in order, 1, 2, 3 and so on, as fast as you can. A wrong tap makes the grid shake and marks that round as a mistake, but you do not restart; continue from the next correct number. A lesson has several rounds, and grids grow from 3×3 up to 7×7 across the levels.
What it trains: mainly visual search and sustained attention, the scan, locate and confirm loop, and staying on task for a whole round.
Reading the score: the faster a round, the more points it earns. Accuracy shows how many rounds had no wrong taps; combo shows how many clean rounds you strung together. When comparing with a friend, make sure you played the same level, because scores from different grid sizes are not comparable. Single results naturally vary; the trend over a week tells you more.
Tips: let your eyes lock on the target before you tap, so you scan back and forth less. If you keep making mistakes, slow down by half a beat and speed up again once accuracy is steady. One or two challenge rounds are enough, then get back to your real task. For more, read how to read Schulte results and the progression plan.
